TOURISM is highly valued.  The historical lower building was a post for the GAR .   It is 1 of only 7 original halls left in the state of Ohio from 725 used during and after the Civil War.

The Genoa area invites you to explore its historical attractions, enjoy its classic, friendly Midwest communities, good schools, rich farmland and area parks, located minutes from the western shores of Lake Erie, where recreation opportunities include, swimming, boating, fishing, bird watching, golfing, antiquing and much more.

residential and commercial development, located within minutes of the Ohio Turnpike, major interstate routes, rail and air service.

The Genoa area shares its abundance of talent, world-renowned artists, skilled tradesmen in a safe, clean atmosphere and environment. 

The Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to come, explore and discover all the exciting things to see and do in and around Genoa.  We are located at the west end of  Ottawa County in rural farm country.  Directly north is the Crane Creek Wildlife Refuge and to the east is Port Clinton and a little farther on, the Marblehead Lighthouse.  There are many things to see and do in Ottawa County.  Spend the day, a week, a month or just stay.  We’ll be looking for you and we’re betting you will love it here, we do!

FARMING is an important industry in Ottawa County.    The county has rich farmland with 107,000 acres being farmed.

MANUFACTURING is  represented in the area.  The above business , Packer Creek Pottery, is known and loved by some pretty important people here and abroad.

When you come, don’t miss the wonderful, restored Town Hall, above center, in Genoa Ohio.  It dates back to 1886.

 Today it houses the Village Council Chambers and has served as a place for meetings, plays, weddings and other social events.   It is on the
National Register of Historic Places.
